About Me

Who am I?

My name is Abygail Sevegny, and I have been a flute payer for about 7 years. Throughout my time playing, I have played in a multitude of different ensemble such as my school concert band, Rhode Island All State Band, RI Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, Southern New England Honor Band, my flute teacher's flute choir, the IC Flute Ensemble, and the IC Campus Band. I was the president of my high school band and was ranked 3rd in the state of Rhode Island on flute during the 2021-2022 school year, so music has aways been a big part of my life, however I knew I did not want to pursue it professionally. Ithaca College has a wide array of ways for non-music majors to get involved, with one of those being the flute ensemble, so I wanted to showcase it though this project as I feel it is not a well known type of ensemble. Flute choirs can provide a new medium for different arrangements and styes of music, as well as providing a different type of sound than a woodwind choir or full concert band.
